I have an appointment at specsavers, to be tested for NHS hearing aides, will I be able to choose which brand of aid I prefer, Phonak, Resound, or Signia, the last one I had 6years ago was a Siemans, which was not very good, I believe Signia is now Siemans, out of the 3 listed, what would be the best one.

I’m not sure my information is correct, but I understand that NHS are now issuing Phonak. Siemens did not give good service. ReSound are not available on NHS. If possible, I would say it is better to have your hearing test at NHS. They are more thorough and have the latest equipment. Our Trust do not supply Phonack with Bluetooth but if you say you are interested in streaming, they are wireless compatible.
I have had all my hearing tests at an NHS clinic and my trust issues Oticon aids. Last time I said I wanted to use a streamer and they issued me with compatible Oticon aids. I wouldn’t be without my streamer - my loss is moderate to severe so it makes a lot of difference.
Ha ha...No, one size fits all.
