Prescription
I don’t think we are entitled to free prescriptions under NHS. I am 66 had cystinuria since age 11. Until I reached free prescription age I always paid for mine via the yearly payment as much cheaper. Cystinuria might be classed as chronic kidney disease but no benefits of any kind even if you have a stone you still get put on the waiting list. Only faster treatment if you are an emergency via A and E like most things people have wrong with them.
Hi Tkirrage
Unfortunately bertrussell is correct. I looked into this and Cystinurea is not on the list of conditions that qualify.
I have a very helpful GP who prescribes medication for two months at a time. This then works out a little cheaper if I am well and not needing prescriptions for anything else.
If I have a stone I then get a 3 months prepayment certificate.
I live in the UK and get all my meds free+always have.
This disease is incurable and all I did was fill in the book they require and told them about it. They then sent me a little card that lasts for 10yrs at a time, if I remember clearly they even sent me a reminder before the last one ran out.👍🙏
Is this in the UK
Yes mate, sorry late reply....I struggle with lotsa things...
All I did was fill in the form and told them everything I could possibly remember, even put my Drs and hospital details, even in the last year or two, I have had to do a renewal booklet 😂 but dint hav any aggro with them. The last one I’ve got is for TEN years😲😲😲
