Yes, it is on the MJF website. Info just came out like a week or so ago which is why you dr probably is unfamiliar. Takes time to get around the country club you know. You can get info off the site and pass it on directly to his nurse or caddy.
This is what i read, that FDA are investigating the possibilty.
Sept. 19, 2012 -- The FDA is investigating a possible risk of heart failure linked to Mirapex, a drug used to treat Parkinson's disease and restless legs syndrome.
Officials say recent studies suggest a potential raised risk of heart failure with the use of Mirapex, but further review of research is needed.
The FDA’s safety alert stops short of an official warning announcement for the drug. The agency has not concluded that Mirapex raises the risk of heart failure.
Instead, the FDA says it is working with Mirapex’s manufacturer to clarify the risk of heart failure and will update the public when more information is available.
II only recently learned the difference between "heart failure" and "heart attack". Although heart failure is in no way a good thing, compared to a heart attack it is. Heart failure is the heart not operating at full efficiency. Thus leading to fatigue, breathlessness and so forth. Whereas A heart attack is likely to be fatal. The condition linked to Pramipexole (Mirapex) is heart failure and I would guess that this is only affects a very few. Perhaps only those on the verge of developing heart failure anyway.
Any proper medical people ou there who can correct / fill in the gaps here please.l
