In my experience, the doctor's answer to night sweats will be "It's your age." regardless of the age you are. Not sure if this answers this part of the question? You might even be male for all I know. ;)

Night sweats

usually a sign of hormonal imbalance (male or female)

though sometimes a side effect of various medications

For the women:

Likely cause is low estrogen (if not a side effect from a medication) at any age.

Hormone imbalance occurs frequently with chronic diseases ... like PD or PDP ... and with older age / pre-menopause and or menopause.

Just because it commonly occurs does NOT mean that you must suffer through it. There are solutions.

If low estrogen is occurring : Rx Vagifem or Rx mini patch estradiol might be just the ticket. No more night sweats. Easy peasy fix it.

For the men:

If you are suffering from depression in addition to night sweats ... be certain to have your testosterone levels checked. A hormonal imbalance might be occurring. Once again just because it commonly occurs does NOT mean that you must suffer through it. There are solutions.

I get hot sweats in the day, quite unannounced no warning.

requip gave me permanent marks on my ankles, nausea and compulsions. not sweating. Good luck.

I'm thinking part of the problem is that I'm not rolling around in bed at night. I spend long periods in just one spot.

At my age I'm not sure hormones are the cause...since I've been without hormones for quite a few years. :)

Quite likely a withdrawal effect. Night sweats can be due to PD or to medication. If it is withdrawal it should settle down.
