A new dawn

They say there is no night so long that it prevents a new dawn.

They say there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.

They say nothing will last forever.

There's always a tomorrow, a new dawn, a new dream to pursue, a new peak to conquer.

Big changes are coming ahead.

The Chinese define "crisis" with two characters:

Threat and Opportunity

Threat to those who anchor themselves to the past in a futile and debilitating defense trying to keep alive something that no longer exists.

Opportunity to re-launch our boat for too much time stranded between Scylla and Charybdis.

Now or never we must lead the ship into new seas.

We can not afford once more to let "that everything changes, so that everything remains the same."

Sit down and wait is no longer an option.

Fulvio, your chinese wisdom is so valid - at CPT we are exploring every route we can to finding a cure and we see this as a time of opportunity. With the spending squeeze, it forces collaboration, and that is a good thing. It also forces scientists to focus on the priorities in Parkinson's and the "need to do", rather than the "interesting to explore" and "nice to do". I see this as a huge opportunity to highlight priorities within this commmunity and focus research and energy where it needs to be focused.

So true Helen,

especially in Europe I miss something like an organized patient lobby into the EU administration and more info transparency and accessibility for the patients to the clinical trials.

Hi FulvioC

Where there's a will there's a way."

If all the money wasted on Armaments were spent on:

Feeding the hungry;

Housing the homeless

Curing the sick

Educating the uneducated

There would still be enough to carry out much more research on Parkinson's
