All of the responses that I have received to my post here have been wonderful...I want to answer each one and I will...but the past couple of days has been busy crazy. I had the dr. appt. today and mentioned his blog and how helpful you have all been and he said THAT' FANTASTIC!!!!

I am going through some serious changes right now with the PD and starting a new medication tomorrow but the dr also asked me to keep a daily PD diary for at least the next 6 weeks...until I see him again..and once again I find myself here asking for help and your wonderful advice. I have kept a handwritten journal since i was 10 yrs old...52 yrs of notebooks in the attic...but I have no idea what I should be writing in my PD Diary day to day...any ideas or hints???? What is the most important things to keep track of...what's not imp. if anything? I can sure use all of the help I can get.

Another thing at the dr today that really grabbed me...symptoms that overlap...from PD...to Diabetes...to a thyroid problem...weight...sleep apnea...I don't know anymore if I can tell what is causing what...reaction to meds...it's a real job trying to figure all of this out...I thank you in avance for any info and insight that you might share with me...casey in NH

Keep track of:

when you take your meds, how soon they "kick in", how long they last, the times you eat...are you taking your meds on an empty stomach and waiting an hour to eat? taking them with your meals?

Write down any problems you are having and how that relates to when you took your last meds...emotions, feelings, movement...

I had blood pressure problems until I get the right combo of meds for me.

Write down how much sleep you get and when you sleep (I slept all the time before my meds were changed).

Hope this helps!

I agree with Di. Would also add if your tablets show a reaction to any particular foods, in particular proteins.

I was advised to take meds on an empty stomach as Di said and I have noticed that they don't work as well if I don't stick to this advice for any reason.

Also, keep a note of the time of day you are at your best.

It really is important to keep a note of even the smallest change even if it seems unimportant. Your comment about diabetes is interesting as I have recently been diagnosed with Diabetes 2 and wonder if this could be affecting my meds. Have not seen my Consultant since this diagnosis was made so will see what she says.

Good luck.

Sue :-)
