I wrote last in Feb and thought I would write once a week but I have started doing accounting and taxes for my daughter and several friends. So I have been busy at my computer. I find that the work helps me keep my mind active and I know that if I can continue to do accounting, even if I do it for no money, then I know I am still "with it". The computer work is very easy when I am "on" with my meds and even when I am off, I can still manage to type, even if it is somewhat slower.
Computers were a great invention and it has helped me stay in touch with loved ones and allowed me to do something I love so that I can keep my sense of "self-worth" alive and well and thriving. So anyone with a compter, log on and type away. You will get a good feeling from seeing something you have accomplished and the knowledge that computers can be typed with one finger may encourage more to blog and share stories of courage and accomplishment!!!

Sadiesadie. Absolutely spot on. Both wife (retired chartered accountant) and I have a PC each and they are never still for long. Elaine, aforementioned wife, spent all day yesterday splicing together 2 camcorder videos of Church re-instatement. I spent most of the day on Skype talking to friends from afar and completing my daily diary for Parkinson's Movement. It is a 3 week study of a "Parkie's" life fly on the wall hour by hour.
The point is - we are both busy - even when I am "off" I am on the pc.Best thing ever invented
yes i am but today i had my first - ' interview ' and got a bit tearful - lord knows why but i find that talking about me and my pd makes me focus on it more and that then seems to upset me .. crazy or what ?
Living with it day to day if one thing. Talking about it to a "stranger" brings it into sharp focus and I can understand you getting tearful. Try and not let it get you down. Hope you are smiling again soon. Cheers. I'm off into the garden with a nice cold beer!
We, Shasha and myself, and others we do not know about, were approached by the Parkinson's Movement to write up a diary on a daily basis to give the powers that be a flavour of what people with PD have to go through because of this disease. It is for 3 weeks duration. That's all I know
I like the computer and spend time every day. I try to update documents and spreadsheets but I get painful dystonia in ab and thighsa so I have to pace myself and not overdo. LLove my PD websites !! Here and on FB
