My husband can only do this when his meds are working. I have to do it when they are not. He also has a bad back and neck so that may be part of the problem.

this may be one of the most difficult tasks for me to do - especially the toe nails as I have to deal with the rigidity of my legs in addition to the shaking. It takes time and patience (which I never have had alot of) and is almost impossible without meds but just barely doable with them

I can't do my toenails because of the rigidity in my legs. So, both me and my husband go to the nail salon at Walmart and have a pedicure every 6 weeks. My husband hesitated at first but now he loves them. Nice treat for both of us and reasonably priced as well.

I wait for a "good" day, I typically do the toe nails in the tub.

I call a podiatrist who comes to my home and for $25 cuts my toe nails. I just found out about him and it certainly solved one of my problems.

My husband has to cut my toe nails, I can't.

Hilary,

The 'Cosyfeet' company offer all kinds of aids for feet including special long-handled scissors with angled blades & aids for putting on socks/stockings/tights. I always find it easier to sit on the bed with my feet on the floor, lift one leg bent sideways onto the bed so the foot is supported & relativly close & then do the necessary task.

I can't cut my toe nails but am lucky to have a friend who is a podiatrist and looks after my feet for me.

She even paints my toe nails which are a joy to see as my grandchildren get to choose the colours. A sight for sore eyes, as sometimes each nail is a different colour!!

Have never had such happy feet.

:-)
