The oral therapy produces an appreciable improvement within a few days, but the patient may not realize it. Within 30 days in most of the cases, an appreciable improvement of the symptoms is detected by the patient as well. Further improvement is observed within the following 2-3 months. The effectiveness of one intramuscular injection of 100 mg is nothing short of impressive in all cases they have observed. It determines an almost sudden improvement, clearly appreciable by the doctor as well as by the patient. The tremor, one of the major symptoms in this disease, is strikingly reduced.

A good article on HDT
There is a lot of positive results with HDT on HU, but based on my experience with TTFD (thiamine tetrahydrofurfuryl disulfide) I can not not recommend TTFD. I have developed an intolerance to thiamine and any derivative of thiamine sends my Blood Pressure through the roof. I have had to stop taking my B complex because of the B1 in it. Hopefully, with time I can start HDT again.

"All responded favorably, regardless of severity ... is nothing short of impressive in all cases..."
The article, which is largely hype, should at the every least say, "All but one" -- moi.
Nothing known, except water, has benefitted every person.
Isn't there a risk of creating false hope?
I agree, probably the benefits of B1 are overstated to some extent in this article. It has compelled me to retry the HDT
dr constantini died in may 2020 -- I researched him and his treatment over a year ago --- his "video testimonials" were a joke ... (they lasted only a few seconds up to maybe 20 seconds in length and was NOT convincing in any way, shape, or form)----------------------------------------------------------------
Most of the videos are short videos that Dr. C used to make of each of his patients for the purpose of documenting changes in symptoms between visits. They were certainly not made to be "convincing," because it would be much easier to do so using the fluctuating nature of PD symptoms. (On/off med phenomenon ).
Every PWPS knows this and no web video , long or short, will be "convincing " to him.
However, HDT is so easy to try that even a PD warrior can do it in practice, with an expense of $15 in vitamin b1, and personally verify the effectiveness of vitamin b1 therapy. No joke.
I'm looking for Thiamine HCL. I read on HU that Solar's B1 was good but my bottle says Thiamine HC1 not HCL and I can't find it with HCL. Only in powder form. I also read that Vitacost has it. I just went to the link and it showed Nature's Way HC1 not HCL. Anyone know a good source for HCL? I guess I've been giving my husband HC1 and not seeing any difference over the month or so that he's been taking it. I know we need to give it longer but I would rather go with what Dr. C used!
