Hello All - wondering if anyone has found a particular sock or slipper that works well for shuffling around the house. Hubby wears socks most often, but they’re slippery, get filthy and develop holes. Slippers with non slip bottoms seem to inhibit movement.

I wear these:

amazon.com/Anti-Skid-Socks-...

I got them because I am afraid of slipping and falling. After you have worn them a bit they lose some of the non-skid-ness, but I still feel safe wearing them, and I don't find they inhibit my movement...

I recommend Glerups glerups.com/international/ or Giesweinn, comfortable, felt quality slippers with a souple leather sole. They give support and a bit of warmth for indoors, also OK to "slide" without being slippery

I live in Nike Kawa shower/beach shoes from amazon - comfortable with or without socks and safe. Very durable!

My husband wears Birkenstalks around the house. With socks, Sometimes leaves on his runners that he wears for his morning walk this time of year.

We have tile floors so we need support and protection, so never wear socks alone. Even the anti-skid socks are no good for us on these really hard floors.

vivobarefoot.com - they make flexible/ flat shoes with no cushioning, it's the closest thing to walking barefoot and wearing them strengthens the muscles in your foot and toes. If the shoelaces are too difficult you can swap the laces for these fantastic stretchy widgets that turn any laced shoe into a slip-on shoe from everyhuman.com

Flip-flops? They are easy to put on and take off and cheap......but the the noise they make may be somewhat annoying!

When I needed surgery and had to stay the night they gave me socks with rubber knobs. When my daughter was just learning to walk we found similar socks but baby-sized.

Not what you're looking for?
