Looking for a 'laid back', traditional MD for PD with strong interest in alternative medicine in NJ, and an "out of the box thinker".

I dont think that you will easily find an MD that will fill those requirements. Maybe go to the health food store you frequent and ask them for a recommendation for a Natural-path or maybe a hands on healer. I would not rule out many different ancient methods . You probably dont trust the Pharmaceutical companies and you are not going to be vaccinated for Covid 19 so I would not go to India right now with the associated Black Mold problem . Too bad because they have many different types of "Laid back, out of the box, traditional medical practitioners . Good Luck

I’d love a referral to a Dr like this as well! I live in AZ, but many docs can do telehealth since covid. Thank you!

I’d love a referral for a Dr like this also! I live in AZ but many Drs do telehealth now due to the pandemic.

I love my neurologist. He is a movement disorder specialist. His name is Arash Fazl and he is located at the Saint Barnabas ambulatory care Center, in Livingston New Jersey. He’s a traditionally trained doctor, but supports my use of Mucuna and is very up-to-date on the latest research, very encouraging and thorough. A really decent good doctor.

Can you tell me a little bit about the kinds of tests/things Dr Fazi did at your first meeting ?

I had already been diagnosed and started medication when I first saw him. He does what I think is a standard assessment including cognitive and movement skills. He listens and does his best to answer completely any questions. He will openly research on the computer in front of you if you want to talk about any treatments you’ve read about. He is very accessible and kind. I Highly recommend!

I recently saw him. He is the best doctor I have ever interacted with. He is extremely thorough, and up to date. He knew details about trials that other doctors I’ve see had not heard of. Sadly he is moving to Seattle.

I would love to know more about this Dr and his knowledge. I use a lot of mucuna. I’m also not happy with my neurologist. She is condescending, very much pro-drug and surgery and not the least bit interested in anything “alternative”.

Hi Kerrington,

I have my last appointment with neuro in Springfield who is retiring. Have you seen Fazl yet and if so let me know any details when you can. I will be booking an apt soon to see him. Thanks.

Stay healthy.

Eric

I’m seeing him again in September

Any idea when he is leaving, any backup ideas? What a bummer, he seems like the guy.
