It’s a year since my book was published and sales (see Amazon) have been very good. Thank you to those who have bought it. I sincerely hope it has given you ideas on how you can reduce your symptoms. I am uniquely placed to write the book having been a music teacher all my life, having an MA and PhD in music psychology and having been diagnosed with Parkinson’s eleven years ago.

Just purchased your book yesterday. Really looking forward to reading it. I love music it can really lift the soul. I have no doubt it can heal.
That’s great! I hope you find lots of usable suggestions for physical and mental symptoms.
Lovely post, music certainly has lifted my husbands spirits.

Hi for 9 years i used to provide entertainment to care/residential homes/dementia units and memory cafes playing guitar/sax/clarinet and singing.I found time after time that people would come alive become less aggresive and their faces light up as soon as i started singing and playing.Music has an incredible positive effect on people .I witnessed this time after time.....sadly ive had to give it up because PD effects my playing now
Do you play for yourself still? I discuss playing an instrument as therapy in the book. I also discuss how PD affected my playing and how I use it now as therapy and the improvements I have made.
Yes i still play for myself have a small studio......devasted when i found out the reason for jerky strumming and fingers sticking on clarinet.....so i have to come to terms with it.....music is therapy particularly love singing.....makes me happy and sad....i have many fond memories of playing to some wonderful people over the years most of whom have now passed on ...anyway wishing you all the very best cheers Geoff
Daphne... I've been saving for a stand of Scottish Small pipes for the past year. Since starting on the electronic practice chanter with my tutor I was diagnosed. I refuse to give up, even if my fingering becomes unsteady. Even if others refuse to listen, I'm determined to learn the pipes before I shuck this mortal coil. Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us regarding the positive power of playing as well as listening to music. "Life without music is -- well,.... death".👍
Just ordered! Looking forward to reading it!!😊Connie
I thought i might bring this string back so new members could see it
