2012(dx) - 2017 Disabled.

2018 - 2020 HDT recovered.

2020 - 2021 Akinesia not affected by HDT.

2021 HDT frees me from most symptoms. 90%.

2021 - Constipation returns. What I call akinesia (?) I feel paralyzed in certain movements. Was not a problem in earlier years. My current, soon to be former neurologist, will not move my l-dopa up. I did myself with result I resolved akinesia totally.

I will continue with HDT as my lifetime therapy. Without HDT I certainly would return to the disabled years and leading to wheelchair and bed ridden. I appreciate my QOL that thiamine hcl affords me. I shiver at the thought of advanced stage of Parkinson’s without HDT.

For the future I will be working on reducing my l-dopa.

That's my average daily dosage also.. Do you use an inhibitor?

in reply to Tryguy

Inhibitors?

Mayo Clinic says you give the size of dose that brings desired results.

I just started the HDT therapy about 1-2 week ago. I'm at 1000mg / day in 2 divided doses - (1) 500mg cap before breakfast, and (1) 500mg cap after lunch. Seems like I felt something at first then nothing. I hard-that you really have to stick with it..

Friends noticed differences in me after 2-3 months. It took longer for me to realise all rigidity had gone and I had more energy.
