Those whose lives have been changed for the worse due to pramipexole/mirapexin.What I actually mean here that their behaviour/ character has changed and eg become compulsive gamblers etc. When this drug has been stopped after taking for years has the person gone back to their normal self or has the pramipexole made a life changing effect.

Sorry for being so long.

I had some relatively harmless compulsive behaviors while taking ropinirole (a comparable dopamine agonist). The behaviors stopped when I stopped taking the drug. I believe that is usually the case.

Mirapex has completely destroyed lives of several of my friends through compulsivity.........better have a savvy caregiver and stay away from porn.........and gambling...cheers!

I had compulsive behaviors with Mirapex, even on a very low dose. Too much online shopping and overeating were the biggest issues. Stopped taking it and am better, for the most part. Still feel like shopping too much occasionally but that could be a pre-existing personality trait toward addictive behavior + the pandemic.

Where you on it for long?

I think I was on it for 6-8 months. Started at lowest dose available, went up to next lowest dose, recognized that I was having issues, went back down for a while and then completely off with dr’s help.

I’ve just started taking it . Day 3. Will keep an eye out for those Compulsive behaviours.

I think my sense of smell is already returning a little though.

I have been on it for 7 years. I’m weaning my self off slowly. 5 doses a day now down to 3. Each dose I dropped was horrible. Not myself. Cranky and depressed. It took about 2-3 weeks before I felt better. The first dose was at the request of my doctor. This last dose I did myself. Doc appointment is in November. See what she thinks.
