Hi. I need cataract surgery and the eye clinic I attended for pre op assessment has referred me back, to be treated at the main hospital instead. I could not promise them that I would be able to lie completely still for 20 minutes (it's possible that when nervous, I may have a slight head/jaw tremor). I will need sedation. Has anyone else had a similar experience? And did you have mild or heavy sedation, or even full anaesthetic? Or no sedation at all? Would be interested to hear experience of others. My normal state is a left hand/arm tremor, currently controlled quite well by medication. Meanwhile, all non urgent ops are postponed indefinitely because of the virus situation.

Cataract surgery for Parkinson's people, Query
I have tremor in my left hand and arm as well. The anesthetic that was used put me into a “twilight” for lack of a better word. Both surgeries were successful with no complications.
I just ust had eye surgery. It was done at a surgery center not a hospital. They used twilight it is iv sedation only in a very light sleep,. Can hear what people are saying, but not awake enough to feel anything. I was worried because I have Parkinson's not bad, tremor on right side. Was a piece of cake woke up with no after effects at all. Went home about 30 minutes after I woke up.
I was worried too, but the doc assured me that the meds they gave me would keep me still. The surgery went great and it's so nice to have a win!!
Just had glaucoma surgery. It was done in a surgi center under "twilight" anesthesia. Have had PD over 6 years with right sided tremors. No problem at all and went home within an hour
Just had, no probs.
