Social distancing and self-isolating with Parkinson’s: the EPDA wants to hear how the Parkinson’s community is coping with the unusual lifestyle changes due to COVID-19. Are you self-isolating at home and if so, how are you finding it? What kind of support network do you have?
Are you experiencing issues with any of the following, and if so how are you coping:
•Boredom
•Depression
•Anxiety
•Loneliness
•Exercising
•Managing your daily life e.g. shopping, work, home-schooling children etc?
•Financial concerns
We’d really like to hear about your experiences, and any advice you can share to help others, which we’d like to share in an article on our website.
Please share your thoughts in the comments below (stating if you would prefer not to feature in our article, or if you’d like your comments to be anonymous).
Thank you very much

In our household, we are doing pretty well, considering, but we are in our mid-seventies and retired, so we don't have the additional stress of jobs, money and children which makes our lives ever S-O-O-O much easier. Cannot imagine being middle-aged, with children and needing that weekly paycheck -- like all of our children with children.
Last week we had a freezer delivered which is in our garage which we filled up with food. We have about a 2 month supply anticipating food delivery will be interrupted.
We don't go out at all, except to walk the dog. Unable to go to the gym is our biggest dislocation. I'm thinking of buying a used weight bench and weights, but don't want to go to someone's house to get it.
My advice; the CDC 6 foot standard for social distancing is not enough. There are good videos on YouTube which explain why 20 feet is necessary. It is not possible to be too cautious. We also limit watching news.
As though this is not stress enough, we (in the US) don't have a functioning government -- that's our primary worry.
This member of the community would cope much better if epda replied to messages sent to them, instead of ignoring them and stopped fiddling with hiding posts and replies from friends like Mbanderson.
