This is quoted from the Environmental Working Group. "Atrazine is a hormone-disrupting pesticide so powerful it can turn male frogs into female frogs with viable eggs! In humans, atrazine has also been linked to cancer, shorter pregnancy and hormone disruption.
The EU banned atrazine almost 50 years ago, but the U.S. still allows more than 70 million pounds of atrazine to be dumped on American farmland each year."
We also have glyphosphate,(Roundup), DDT and other chemicals, as well as Genetically Modified foods. How do humans and other species survive the onslaught of these chemicals? Where are all the honey bees? Could all of these toxis and EMF's be contributing to the cause of Parkinson's Disease? Can they be avoided?

We hope that is true. We do ozone saunas. I wonder, if all the pesticides and toxins were removed from the bodies of Parkinson's patients, would it be easier to 'cure' the disease? I suppose you would just have to encourage new neuronal growth.
I put the diffuser of an ozone generator in the bottom of the bucket of water and then place the fruit or vegetables in the water with a weighted cover to keep them submerged. Then run the ozone generator for 30 minutes, and stay out of the vicinity to not be breathing ozone.
Ozone oxidizes (like slow burning) organic vapors. Ultraviolet (UV) on oxygen produces ozone. That's how UV works in air filters, which also remove organic odors.
Ozone has been used sucessfully in the US since 1980, and much longer in Germany. I understand it is readily available at spas in Germany, of all things. When it is used therapuetically, it has never harmed anyone that I am aware.
How frequently have you had your mucuna or 5htp or other supplements comprehensively tested to see what is actually in them?
Supplement manufacturers operate outside the boundary of any sort of particularly rigorous regulation, and consequently the risk is greater that your supplements will be tainted. And no, that you have used them for 5 or even 10 or even 20 years without any issue is not evidence that they are not doing you damage, as PD itself ably demonstrates.
For all the work around the margins you can do by living somewhere with relatively clean air (download the Air Matters app), avoiding direct contact with pesticides and attempting to rid your body of existing toxins, the number one source of anything that goes into your body is what you actually eat.
Generally speaking, It's a bit of a farce that people won't go near those dangerous chemical drugs on the basis that they are doing you untold damage but will shovel pounds of mucuna (and whatever else) that they bought on eBay without the slightest idea of what is actually in it simply because they see it as "natural" (I have no idea how someone can view a heavily processed powder that offers no resemblance to the actual plant as "natural" but that is another discussion).
Yes. There is a fair bit of irrationality involved in these easy-fix analyses. James Parkinsons essay on the shaking palsy was published in 1817 - long before Agent Orange, glyphosphate, DDT or Atrizine were ever a twinkle in their mad scientists eye. That's not to say these substances are harmless, but they are not the simple blame either. When its the season, I'm going to take a photo of Serge spraying his vines. I avoid walking nearby when he's doing it, but he is over 65, wears no protective clothing or mask, uses an open tractor, and has been doing it all his life, and doesn't have PD. Nor do any of the other 89 people living in this village, drinking the same water, breathing the same air. It's idiopathic.
That's always THE big problem with supplements and OTCs. Always. No controls or assurances, caveat emptor 100%. Versus "not always" with drugs whose manufacture are run through much more stringent government controls, so that assurance is rather better ("depending,"...on many things of course... of course).
Did you know that drugs limited by law to a doctor's prescription didn't used to be called "drugs"? They were actually called, originally, "ethical" drugs. These days the assurances have become polluted, diluted, diminished, and replaced by differently defined, very much qualified, kinds of ethics.
We have worked with MD's with mucuna. My goodness! It has worked for my husband. That's how we determine if it's effective. He has had no dysconesia or other side effects. If it weren't for his tremor, no one would even notice he had PD. I studied extensively mucuna and the amino acids before he started taking it. He recently tested a zero on his pull test. He has had PD since 2014-2015., presumably caused by the chemicals in Agent Orange. We don't randomly buy the cheapest on Amazon or Ebay. Where you get your supplements is as important as researching and studying their effectiveness.
Bepo, I am not saying that mucuna is not effective. I know it is effective. We know why it is effective.
What I am saying is that if you are going to dedicate yourself to ridding your PWP of any and all 'toxins' you need to be extremely cautious about what he ingests.
Buying something from 'reputable' vendors does not protect you from contamination.
Thanks. After reading the post I agree with your last statement.
Earlier you mentioned several people who take mucuna also got dyskinesia. I've studied mucuna for years and never heard of that.
We are very careful where we get our supplements and also where we buy our food, and we don't use any pesticides or herbicides other than natural. When you research carefully, that gives you some degree of confidence. It's not all perfect, you can get contaminants from anything that is manufactured, including everything you buy in jars, cans or boxes.
I think all those with PD and their caregivers need to be open to the possibilities of potential treatments. To close the door on supplements that have helped many people, is to shut the door on your improved health. Ignorance is bliss!
The FDA does not do independent testing on drugs. It relies on the manufacturers of those drugs to do their own testing. Viox is a good example. So......what exactly are you getting in the drugs you take?
I'm not saying drugs are risk free, simply that there's some risk associated with supplements that seems odd to ignore if you are on a mission to eliminate toxins, as you seem to be.
Move to Europe. Everything, including health and longevity, has been sold away to big corporate money for a long time now, and their lobbying has bought all the lawmakers at federal and state levels many times over. It's just not in the values set, and of course it is only worse in those non EU countries that are mostly still governed by incomplete (or worse) democracies and less. That's pretty much it. Either that, or be a multi-millionnaire who buys health using your money.
