White House, US Courts & EPA Shaft Veterans to Protect Monsanto

By: Cassandra Anderson

Fate of US Veterans

In 2003, the Supreme Court affirmed a lower court decision allowing veterans to sue Monsanto, Dow and other Agent Orange manufacturers directly.

The government has responded, under the Obama regime, by passing the Caregivers and Veterans Omnibus Health Services Act of 2010, which allows the automatic funding of veterans’ Agent Orange claims. While Monsanto & Dow appear to have considerable liability, the cost of healthcare and hospitalization of affected veterans is paid by American taxpayers.

More than 2 million Americans served in Viet Nam. The Veterans Administration claims they have no idea how many vets have been treated for Agent Orange injuries, or how much taxpayer money has been spent. The EPA is also involved in the cover-up and has been delaying an assessment report on dioxin since 1985 to protect plastic, chlorine, paper, herbicide and agricultural industries.

Well put.

Count me as 1.

Healthcare Record keeping and patient documentation at the VA is elaborate and articulate. There is no possibility they cannot put numbers on those questions.

With the recent, successful lawsuits, let's see if something can be done. I called and emailed one law firm. They are only addressing non hodgkins lymphoma.

Not directly. However, the airfield perimeters were kept clear with Agent Orange, so he was surrounded with it every other day.

Is he getting benefits from the VA?

No. Didn’t think he was eligible until recently and he is being treated by private doctors, which we would prefer. We’ll see...

We see a private doctor who mostly follows natural remedies. We think alike on many issues. Medicare only pays the office visit. Many docs are opting out of medicare. They have to do so much paperwork, and if they insert one wrong number on the claim, by accident, they could be in big trouble. Isn't it terrible medicare doesn't pay for preventative, innovative treatments?

Yuck! When my husband refused to take pharma through the VA, the doctor was furious and cancelled all appointments. It's such a money maker for big Pharma!

The VA gives disability compensation for agent orange problems. My husband receives a nice check each month from the VA. You have to go through the VA. Your county, where you live, may have a liaison who will work with you and the VA.

This is spot on. I think US military veterans now have the right to sue for malpractice.

Thank you! We are at least 90 miles from the nearest VA, so a county liaison is a great idea. All the best to you and your husband.

We are lucky. There is a liaison in the county where the VA is located. It is about 70 miles away. George receives compensation for heart and PD, both caused by Agent Orange. He was a brown water sailor in VietNam, where they were sprayed continually.

I am so sorry. It is sad there are so many servicemen affected by this.
