What is the maximum carbidopa/levodopa that can be taken in one day? I have been off this site for years.

I am up to about 13 per day 25/100 and 3 controlled release. Have had PD approx 33 yrs. Not doing well......biggest problem is weakness.

There is no fixed limit for everybody, that is, each of us may have a different limit, but I know people who are taking 20+ per day.

High Dose of Thiamine gave me my energy back.

Doctor Fahn says his limit is 2,000mg daily

My understanding is the dosage of c/l that causes dyskinesia determines you maximum dose.

We’re at 8 pills per day of 25/100. Significant dyskinesia but Parkinsonism kicks in like crazy if we don’t take a pill every 2 hr and 15 minutes. Able to sleep through the night with no pills but can’t walk until 30 minutes after first pill in morning.
