Does anyone notice a preference in body stance by leaning to the right? Especially at the hips. My husband cannot stand upright-constantly leaning. He doesn’t sleep straight in bed either! I am afraid his right hip has atrophied. Mentioned this to the neurologist, she said nothing could be done? There has got to be an answer to this problem?
Ps: he has young pd (since 35 years old)-now 56.

I have both a lean and a stoop. They get worse the further I walk. It varies, but for the first 6 miles of a walk I have no problem, but beyond that things get progressively worse, I feel my balance is more and more impaired and I get back ache.
I have not found anything that cures this for me, but there's a few things that help:
- I put the lean down to dystonia. So, I keep well medicated.
- Stand up against a wall and lay on your back on the floor in as good a posture as possible. This seems to do a partial reset.
- Use a ski pole to counteract the lean.
- Consciously put yourself in good posture. I find that after a few seconds I forget and am back in poor posture.
- I have written an app that runs on an Android smart phone. It detects the lean and stoop and vibrates when you exceed fixed limits. If you use Chrome, you can run this directly from the browser:
I go to a chriopractor, he's not one that cracks your bones. He realigns my hips by using a vibrator type machine and massages pressure points, etc. It really makes a difference.
