I'm new to HealthUnlocked but I'm not new to PD. I'm going to step up and get more involved in helping with the cause.

When I was diagnosed in early 2010 I was flabbergasted and confused. I was 47 years old, proud father of 3 incredible children, married to the love of my life, and surrounded by relatives and friends that are the funniest and finest people I know. We were living the life! Then - the diagnosis. Well, fuck. It wasn’t supposed to be this way. I ran the range of emotions for a couple of weeks and after a while of being super sad I had enough. I came to the harsh realization that Parkinson’s was going to shorten the time I had left for being functional and earning money.

Welcome. Where are you now with your PD? What meds do you take? Any supplements? You'll find the members here very helpful.

Welcome, Bob. You will find a very supporting group of people here, and if you have questions, please ask. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your PD journey.

Hi - I'm 59 and was diagnosed 12 years ago. I was very fortunate to have a pretty smooth trip until about a year ago. Now I'm paying attention.

I'm pretty new to HealthUnlocked as well, so welcome from another newbie. I think when I found out, I wasn't really aware of what I was in for, I'm thankful I have a Naturopath I work with that looks out for me, I was in lala land. I told him no drugs, I remember that. 3 years later and I am doing pretty well, minor inconveniences that we have managed to handle for the most part. I am counting on continuing the course I am on, always watchful for new advances in research and finding lots of helpful info here. I am now hopeful that a recent step to detox and Keto diet will help in many ways, still too early to tell but my brain fog is lifting. Never give up, read, research, ask questions, exercise, eat the right foods, you never know what you might accomplish with shear determination and know how. Good luck to you

Thank you!
