I've been taking ropinerol for about two years. The first couple of weeks were rough, as it made me nauseous, but little by little the dosage was stepped up from 2 mg to 8 mg once a day, at night, and I could tolerate it very well. Eventually my doctor added some other meds and reduced the ropinirole to 4 mg. Still no problem with it. I do get very tired, but I'm not sure which meds are causing it.
One of the side effects often discussed, because of its repercussions:
“You may have increased sexual urges, unusual urges to gamble, or other intense urges while taking this medicine. Talk with your doctor if this occurs.”
Im on 1 mg ropinirole 3x day and the only side effect for me is extreme sleepiness!
8mg no problems. Decent drug.
I have been on sinment for four years now and it doesn't affect me like that.
Rytary doesn't cause the tiredness for me that Sinemet used to; however, when I first started it, I did experience some.
Thanks for the replies. I can't find any sources that list 'tiredness' as a consequence of sinemet. But a lot of sources say ropinerole causes tiredness. It affects my wife that way. So is something else causing it? Two years ago I was diagnosed with MS, PD and APS all together. Since then I've been in a bad mood basically every day, all day. My staff say my mood was much better while I was on sinemet. I didn't think so and didn't see any change in my dominant hand tremor. But maybe I was wrong. Does mood improvement happen with sinemet use?
Thanks,
