Yes, mine has rib pain. The osteopath says it’s muscular. He worked on it but it just hurt more, and it had no long term benefit.
Good Morning nini. There is a mountain of information on my website - reverseparkinsons.net, which is well worth a visit.
I have been fortunate enough to have reversed many of my symptoms and to have been able to live without any Pd medication since 2002. I am now nearly 85 and am still able to walk fast for one hour, three times a week. I still am able to walk for 7 Ks in a little over one hour.
Don't think that your husband will not be able to walk fast, he will. By fast, I mean as fast as he can walk.
If he can avoid medication then so much the better as it all has side effects and does nothing to slow down the progression of Pd. So, whether he takes medication or not, the Pd is still getting worse at the same rate. Only fast walking has been shown to slow down or even reversing Parkinson's, as it has in my case.
There are times of the day l can’t run,
Even walk fast.
I’m on the way to the pharmacy. I will ask her to-read my list of meds and doses. I wonder if she can reduce the list. Or dose. That’s the way to reduce the progression.
Hi Fredzu. I have no idea of what advice to give you. I am not a doctor and have never tried to act like one, My problem is that I have lost my faith in the medical profession. Being kind to them, I think they are overworked and tend to take the path of least resistance and instead of looking carefully at each patient's problems they prescribe more medication.
Because we are aware that no medication, other than possibly MAObs, does anything to slow down or reverse the Pd; we must realize that it is not doing us any good. If I were in the situation you are in I would start reducing everything until I no longer take any medication, I would concentrate on the walking and seeing that the food I am eating is not doing me any harm.
But I am not YOU! You must make a decision and run with it.
Good luck!
About two years ago I got a severe case of costochondritis. Extremely painful ribs that were sore to the touch. It lasted several months. Hard to get around and breathe. It finally went away after a couple months of ibuprofen and mild muscle relaxers. I haven't had it again since. I don't know how I got it or why but it sure did hurt. You might want to look it up and see if that's what your husband has.
I also got costochondritis years ago when I was sick and I kept coughing so much that I finally inflamed the rib joints and yes it is mighty painful. I just started getting rib pain a few days ago and I have not been coughing a bunch so I'm not sure what's going on but I'm wondering if it doesn't have to do with PD because one of my main symptoms is pain. I can tell when I'm going off my meds, besides the Dark Cloud that forms over my head that tells me everything is pretty hopeless, I also get pain in my shoulders and upper arms and eventually if I don't take anything my toes curl and hurt and my back hurts from dystonia. So why not the ribs? Let's throw those in for good measure.
