This one is about Nilotinib (AKA Tasigna) and not really new, but I don't care, since it's good news...
We parkies just love good news: This one is... - Cure Parkinson's
We parkies just love good news

Glad to see this!
It's a phase 2 human trial
Tasigna already approved for Leukemia so that makes sense
Makes sense... and potentially reduce the whole process of approval to something like a year (?).
No unfortunately. What was published was a pharmacodynamics study undertaken as part of an ongoing phase 2 study which will take some months to complete. After that a large expensive randomized controlled double-blind phase 3 study is usually needed. Expect that to take several years to complete.
"Taken together, 200 mg Nilotinib appears to be an optimal single dose that concurrently reduces inflammation and engages surrogate disease biomarkers, including dopamine metabolism and alpha‐synuclein,” researchers stated.
Note that. "single dose" has to be repeated daily. When treatment stops, alpha-synuclein returns and so do symptoms.
