Sinemet not available in Italy

Sinemet has not been found in Italy since 15/20 days. Those who use 100+25 must have their family doctor fill out a form to request the drug "Levocomp" abroad, to be precise in Germany. For other dosages it is not possible to purchase abroad for which a therapeutic alternative is necessary. Already in August and September 2018 there had been signs of a shortage of products from France and U.K. I ask my italian friends how they are doing and if other members have the same difficulties in finding the drug.

Hi Fed, I posted back in November 2018 that I was having trouble getting Sinemet here in the UK. There were several replies from around the World that it was hard to get in New Zealand, parts of USA and a few others. I was on a "generic" form, which didn't work as well for 4 months (until March this year) .I have been able to get Sinemet since March. I think there is a problem all round. Some places there is a lessening of stocks others a total loss. Good luck and I hope it is only a short time until you get a supply back.

My experience is there is one generic alternative to Sinamet that was ineffective for me another that works quite well. You are right to be persistent.

Fed1000 there is virtually a world wide shortage of Sinemet products, supplies are not expected in Australia until December 2019. I suspect that this has to do with conditions in Puerto Rico where a lot of medications are made, due to the low labor costs there. People are currently using substitutes like Kinson, which is not as good.
