Just be aware that for some people melatonin can cause a gassy diarrhea.

After many months I stopped taking it because it gave me a headache. I was happy with the results while I was taking it

What brand do you buy? Also do you mean cups or capsules of valerian?

Melatonin is "Nature" tabs 1 or 3 mg (cut in 1/2)

Valerian is in capsules, 500 mg by "Now"

I take the Valerian if my difficulty on sleeping is secondary to stress or anxity, usually don't wait and just take the Melatonin + Valerian together around 10pm and deep sleep 8 to 10 hours
