Is Parkinson’s disease inherited? My dad had pd and I have tremors. Thank you
Inherited?: Is Parkinson’s disease... - Cure Parkinson's
Inherited?
It definitely can be hereditary. Mine is. My mother and one of her brothers have it.
There is an inherited version of Parkinson's due to mutations in the LRRK2 gene. 23 and me can test for this - their service used to be free to Parkinson's patients but apparently not the case anymore.
These mutations are particularly frequent in patients of Ashkenazi [Eastern European] Jewish and Northern African origin, but not limited to these groups.
Anxious/worried/tense Is not a cause of Parkinson's, although it can aggravate Parkinson's symptoms.
You keep beating on this same drum and I have seen enough - This is tantamount to blaming the patient and it is not okay. I need to request that you cool it.
Father had PD
It is possible to inherit a gene that causes PD, but this isn’t common. You are more likely to have inherited a genetic defect that interferes with some enzyme pathways which are triggered by environmental agents like pesticides, heavy metal etc or a diet too high in sugar, processed food, deep fried food, white bread, gluten etc or lack of exercise. You may have the same diet as your dad for example so changing that to a sugar, gluten free diet with lots of vegetables might mean you avoid symptoms even if you have these defects.
Emotional Freedom
Did you make this up yourself or did some one else also believe it ? Think, if this was true all the people under care for depression and many other mental illness would get PD would they not ?. Not to mention all the people in wars, police, unemployed etc.
