How to cure staph infection in dogs? Nothing to do with Parkinson's.

I'm at my Wit's End and I need help. We have a 11 old Chihuahua, past couple years she's been having heart problems and she is currently on three different medications. It's made a tremendous difference for her. About 4 months ago she got a staph infection in her feet, since then she's been on three different antibiotics. Nothing seems to work. Anyone encountered that kind of a problem and found a cure for it? She also has crusties around her lips. If Administration thinks this is not pertinent to to this list and does not want to allow it please delete. Thank you Mary

See if you can google Dr Marty Goldstein in Ct. He may have info on line,or do a phone call consult. He is a phenomenal holistic vet. Ha, I even thought of asking him for PD references.

Thanks for your reply, I will Mary

If I had a dog with a staph infection, I would try colloidal silver topically and orally as it is a fairly broad spectrum pathogen killer with a good safety profile. Commercial products can be pricey, but it would be worth it to me. Colloidal silver can also have synergy with several antibiotics and can help to over come resistance to some antibiotics!

Art, thanks I think I'm going to have to try it. I've been reading about staph infection and she is old and she's on medication. I have always supplemented their dog food with meat that we eat ourselves, and veggies too. However they do eat dry dog food, I do buy good quality however they say it raises all kinds of inflammation in their bodies. Thanks again Mary

Here is a study where they tested AGNP's against staph. If you research, you will find that AGNP's are also effective against MRSA.

parkie 13 - colloidal silver - some years back we had a mare with cushings disease (a very OLD mare!) who was always developing foot abscesses - and we often tried treating them with colloidal silver, both topically and orally (mixed in with her water). we thought it helped though I can't say for certain. I know it didn't seem to make things worse but check with your vet. (and good luck with your little guy!)

Google Pemphigus. One of my friends dogs just got diagnosed with this, symptoms sound exactly the same. Needs to be treated asap

There’s a product called “pHenomenal Water.” I think you can get it on Amazon (or their website). It was created to get rid of staph in humans, but I know people who have pets that have benefited...worth a try.
