Does anyone have any familiarity or firsthand experience with this drug? My doctor prescribed it in the form of a patch, but I balked when I read the circular. The possible side effects sound pretty serious. I had complained about a dramatic slow-down of mental functioning -- calculating accurately, memory, etc.

Hi
My husband has been on this drug off and on for many years, pd 34yrs. This drug is used for pd with dementia. About this time last year he was on this and doing ok,they decided to increase patch from 4.6 to 9.4.he ended up like a zombie I took him off it. Also be aware of Memantine. That's if you have dementia of some sort.
My wife is a regular user, her hallucinations almost ceased but she now seems rather confused and forgetful, but aren't we all at 85? she too was tried on a larger patch but we had to revert due to a similar "zombie effect" I think the plusses outweigh minuses with this drug. Good luck!
