Click on your profile, go to settings, scroll down, click on close my account.,

Does this merely stops every single thread created and replies within threads being sent to my inbox or does it close your HU account?

For me i only want the former not the latter

I don't know, I've never done it, but it does sound like it would close your account. I guess what I would do 1st is unfollow threads.
