Hi Ian, I read recently that postural instability is a indication that you are

entering the final stage of parkinsons, do you agree with that train of thought.

Hi. I found that mentioned, too. I suppose that (since I have had PD for over 20 years) I would be considered to be at a late stage of PD? I'm not sure, but it doesn't feel that way. I think I'll ask the DBS team what stage they think I am at when I go to see them at the end of next month.

Is it that if you have postural instability you are more likely not in the tremor dominant group. It seems that about 30. % have PIGD and the rest have tremor dominance. Sadly my husband has the tremor dominance which may well be a bad sign ! It seems that this type progresses quicker and often leads to dementia!! Any thoughts ian?

I am tremor dominant, so perhaps just unlucky to have balance issues. My neurologist told me that tremor dominant pwp are less likely to develop dementia, so who do you believe? Certainly my PD has progressed rapidly over the last 5 years or so, but progressed very slowly prior to that...

Hi Ian. I've watched a number of your vlogs - always interesting. In this one you look really well and healthy. Is it the dbs or are you taking something new?

Not taking anything new, I just had a good day! A friend of mine even called me on the phone to say how good my voice was.
