Im interested in trying mucuna puirens and would like to hear from folks who have tried it. Which form you use? How much of a dose (I read that you should start with 5g and work your way up to whatever your half dose is of Levadopa.

thanks

It is essentially raw Carbidopa. Bear that in mind when dosing-take other meds into consideration.

Look up my other posts. Tried macuna successfully for first two years after diagnosis but then disease progressed so rapidly, macuna couldn’t keep up...not that it wouldn’t have worked, just that it would have required taking too much bulk. Written up in studies on gov health site NCBI...We used powder and ordered it from India...product named Zandopa which is made by company which isolated the active ingredients in macuna and made the product, submitted findings to NBCI. Because any dose of dopa is liable to cause nausea, I put it in glycine caps by hand while watching tv at night....thousands of them. We were of the opinion that it was better to put off use of harsher drugs with bad side effects as long as possible. Of course at that time there was no Rytary in those days.

I take two pills of Dopa Mucuna (an organic food supplement with 15% L-dopa extract) every time the stalevo effect runs out, leaving me freezing. Mucuna gives me a boost till the next dose of stalevo. Plus, I close my eyes, concentrate on my breathe, say some OMMMs and count from 1 to 100...:)
