From what I've read on this subject - external application for skin conditions could be helpful, however internal can cause more harm than good due to presence of hormones, ammonia and possibly heavy metals among few other undesirable substances. And urine therapy is strongly contraindicated for people with gastrointestinal illnesses which now days most of us have. I think some success stories are just a placebo effect - would love to be proven wrong though, since it's such easy and cheap treatment if you can handle the yucky factor of it.

Also, in the second link there is the following statement: "When urea is taken back into the body through drinking, it gets converted into the highly useful substance glutamine. Glutamine is an amino acid." Well, glutamine and glutamate change into each other, which means that administration of glutamine increases the level of glutamate which is a known excitotoxin which we are supposed to avoid.

It seems to me, if the stuff in urine was good for us, the body wouldn't have excreted it?? This is one straw I won't be grasping at.
