Is sinemet ever taken buccally?
I suspect it would not work due to the quantities that would need to be absorbed. OTOH do not see any danger in trying other than a missed dose.
I have always understood that buccal administration gets absorbed straight into the blood, bypassing the digestive system, which takes longer to be absorbed. seems that larger doses would therefore be LESS likely. what am I not understanding? (my spouse takes 1 1/2 tabs of 25/100 mg 3x/day)
I have found that a half tablet under the tongue does work for me between regular doses. It seems to give me a boost when my regular dose is not as effective as I would like, especially my after meal dose. Q
i have used them under my tongue for faster absorption. Have used the regular sinemet this way or there is a tablet made that is blue and tastes like peppermint and dissolves quickly.
