Do I understand this correctly? Are the researchers saying there is no difference after 3 years of taking Azilect (with side effects) compared to not taking it at all?

Not exactly. There was no difference between those that started azilect early versus those that started later. They didn't compare those that didn't take azilect at all.

Hi Parkie, I’ve taken aziliect for first 4 years of being diagnosed. Also merapecin. Ref. Side effects. I do occasionally wake up lashing out. Other times A animal is attaching me. I jumped out of bed and wake. Of course this is a concern for my wife safety when i lash out. I have now been moved on to rasagilne 1mg one per day. The hollucinations have not changed. I don’t know what’s causing the hallucinations. I’ve mentioned to my nurse. I should ask for my norologorlist Specialist for a opinion. Im been diagnosed nearly five years and have deteriorated slightly. Getting a good sleep is often difficult. I turn often , twitch . If I don’t take tablets for any reason I’m guaranteed to disrupt my sleep pattern for a few days. Which is pretty disruptive to normal life. I struggle dealing with more than one thing at a time although I’m busy running a Property development business. I also rather greedy. Luckily I’m still quite active playing tennis. This is getting difficult due to reactions so on. I am positive by nature and feel this is very important. Not sure if this is helpful. Wish you the best.

Hi, I just noticed your reply. I know that some people take azilect and they don't have any side effects, when I took it I definitely kept on forgetting things and couldn't remember anything either. Then I got some bad side effects so I stopped. There is still no agreement weather azilect is a helpful drug or not. I'm sorry about your vivid dreams. I don't know what you can do for it except somebody mentioned one time that for hallucinations husband took niacin. I don't know whether taking niacin would help or not but it would be a harmless enough therapy. He worked up to a thousand mg a day. The niacin makes your face feel hot and flushed so you can't take thousand to begin with. Also taking a good multi and a b complex would probably help. I'm glad that you're doing so well.
