I am sorry, it is hard to accept and even harder when you’re alone. This site has been a Godsend for me. We are always here for you. No two people are the same, but normally someone can help.

What symptoms do you have? Again, I’m so sorry!

It's great you are reaching out to others here, I found the best thing my husband could do for many years after being diagnosed with Parkinson's was to walk, keep moving and get plenty of excercise, eat healthy, and take a quality liquid vitamin with minerals. I am so sorry you are alone do you have a senior center to go meet others or a local Parkinsons support group?praying for you and all others, keep coming to the support group and learn what others are doing to help through pd. God bless you,

Check out the threads on here about Mannitol. I’ve been giving it to Mom and I for about a month and a half. There’s has been some awesome improvements in here conditions as she is about stage 4. She has more movement and she has her voice back. We take 1 tablespoon twice a day. It’s a slow process and different for everyone but we are very excited. Check out website ‘s and YouTube videos that tell all about it.

Hi,

You are never alone as you have this forum !Feel free to e-mail me any time you are down or have a question. I was diagnosed with P D in 1985 when I as 29 years old. your attitude and will power have a lot to do with how you perform. Like I say you have to live with P D because you can't change your diagnosis. So keep a good attitude and try to do things you don't think you can do and you will be surprised what happens.

Please go on the Parkinson's website and look for support groups near you,

they usually meet once a month but they might also arrange social gatherings as well as invite specialists to talk to your group and help with all matters related to the disease. Ted

Well you say that you are alone but you do not explain why . Some people are not social butterflys and tend to keep to them selves and do not go about making friends and like it that way becoming very self sufficient. However there comes a time as you now know.

You have to change, its probably for the better anyway. Better late than never as they say and you need to develop some social skills. Even if you hire a live-in nurse you still need to get along. People will like you if you are , clean, friendly, truthfull, concerned about them, happy, busy, interesting , gentle and helpfull and those are all the things that you are probably looking for in a person. People like to be around people who are fun and having fun so relax and go find some friends. Oh yeah dont get to involved in judging them, put up with a few odd characteristics and annoying habits because, nobody is perfect . last of the summer wine.

PS I did not say it would be easy now go do it.

Find it tough having no family, relatives

It’s kind of a mindset, cos you have the same symptoms you have had for months/years, but now you have a diagnosis. Nothing has changed. You will cope with each day as it comes, just like you did before. Try not to worry.

Big hug and God Bless you😊

I tried to pull up a last of the summer wine episode

My point is , keep smiling, do what you can and start downsizing and securing a safe place with nice people , trees and a pet. You will be ok. TRY as hard as you can now while you can. Planning and action , time now to get ready.

Stress makes the PD worse, and PD makes the stress.

so relax and work when you can.
