Myofascial Pain Syndrome

What is MPS? I received epidural steroid injection to stop the screaming agony in my hip and leg, trigger point, lower back.
A friend of ours (without PD) was diagnosed with Myofascial Pain Syndrome.....it affects the muscles in his neck and shoulders mostly. He's really struggled to deal with the pain. After trying most things, he's just started having acupuncture but it's too soon to say if it's helping.
My hubby (PWP), like RoyProp has been in screaming agony with pain in his calf and hamstring, trigger point is also lower back, for which he's had 4 spinal injections over two years with varying degrees of relief. Next step is an operation on the spine, apparently. Something he would obviously much rather avoid. He's presently having Tui Na Chinese massage which seems to be helping to manage the problem at present.
Yes was diagnosed with myofacial before Parkinson's.I've had physio, heat pads and I do Pilate's.Also I use a foam roller but its painful
