Benadryl is not recommended for people with Parkinson's as it can cause brain fog and may increase dementia.
I still use it on the occasion (rare) that the restless leg is keeping me awake. When I use it I use it very sparingly in the liquid form they sell for giving children and I measure out no more than 4 milliliters. I only use it at night, never in the day for the reasons cited above.

Other than PD? Nothing unusual for a 69 year old person. My cholesterol is borderline normal. I'm just a little overweight, my hair is grey and thinning. I can be a bit hard to understand when I speak due to the stiffening of my facial/vocal muscles. I was just kidding sarcastically (apologies) when I wrote above, I meant that risking a bit of dementia by occasionally using a small dose of Benadryl is not a priorities list of health problems to worry about at this time. I also have a heart condition, enlarged aorta, that is on the list and I need good sleep and to not get worried so I tend to try and jest about things here at the bulletin board. Forgive me please?
Yes I take two every night to sleep. That was the first medication used to help Parkinson's tremors.
Please use an abundance of caution when deciding to take one of the older, anticholinergic antihistamines (like Benadryl). A couple of years ago, research reports were published that offered compelling evidence of a link between long-term use of anticholinergic medications like Benadryl and dementia.
