That was wonderful! The only difference between her story and mine is that I got so much better that I was able to stop taking the medication, and that took away the side effects of taking that medication.

Thanks for putting this story on here for all to see.

By the way, her slogan of, "There is LIFE after Parkinson's Disease" was the title of my first book, but the neurologists said the title was claiming that I was 'cured' and it had to be changed! They wanted me to remove the words "Parkinson's Disease' altogether. So I changed it to, "There is LIFE after being diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease". They are still unhappy about my choice of title. I recently changed it to "Reverse Parkinson's Disease". That is more to the point, in my opinion.

I had a dream last night, in which you posted, "Why don't you just SHUT UP". Maybe you were thinking of me!

Been there laughed and got inspired. Wish she lived in my neighborhood close enough for morning chit chats. Love her attitude as much as I love my own. PWP are are all a tough bunch of bad asses.Hikoi you are a caregiver if I am not mistaken. How is he/she doing this morning?

Hi Buzz ,

Im in my 9th year of PD. I send my aging husband out to work so i can buy a rocking chair for these sleepless nights! Haha he enjoys it, and its good for me, i am more active when i have to care for myself. Even attend boxing class, punch out parkinsons its called.

You are the one - have pd and are also a carer. Thats a calling. Hope you both are doing well.

Hope you understand I get confused, so many posts by many people. Well enough is how we are doing this morning. The cat, Buddy, has assumed my warm spot in the bed that I vacated, as usual. The spouse is still asleep, thank goodness. Sleep, good sleep is restorative. An anecdote you may enjoy that I want to share with somebody, it was so funny when it happened. For months we struggled to assist her with the terrible insomnia she suffers The trazodone just wasn't keeping her asleep, more trazodone would do it but her neuro draws the line at 200 mg daily (4x50 mg tab). Then I discovered that Tryptophan enhances Trazodone, raises the serotonin up a bit. So, we have actually reduced her 50 mg tabs of Trazodone to halves. She sleeps better and her mood is much better. The funny thing is her mood is so improved that the other night I was awakened in the middle of the night by small squeaks and chortles coming over the monitor that I use to alert me when she needs positioning or something. I struggles to my feet, across the hall flashlight in hand and quietly check on her. My dear wife was having a sleeping giggle fit :0. Sweetest wakeup alert ever! Thank you chemists of the world for L-Tryptophan. I couldn't wipe a stiff grin from my face as I went back to my room happy as can be. It feels great to actually help somebody, especially when they are a loved one.

Hi Hikoi,

Bit of a long shot but I don't suppose your boxing class is anywhere near Hampshire? I incorporate boxing in my gym sessions, but I can't find anywhere that specialises in classes for PwP.
