My husband and I are going to try cruising and we are going on a 3 night one this weekend
We haven't been on a cruise before and I was worried what you would take for seasickness or vomiting that wouldn't mess with the Madopar or Parkinsons

I believe Crystallized Ginger may help. More than likely you won't have problems but good to be prepared. Have a wonderful time!
Hope you won't be seasick! Ask your Pharmasist for something that doesn't 'clash' with your prescription.
Ginger biscuits are good for travelling generally.
You are likely to use the handrails on board (and so will everyone else). Wash / gel your hands frequently, especially before eating.
While on board wash/gel your hands before eating
Thank you for your tip about hand gel will defiantly take that and ginger biscuits etc
The pharmacist is going to give my husband something that doesn't clash with his Madopar
We are very excited cause this will be our way of holidays if we like it but I'm sure we will
To avoid seasickness in the first place, ginger may be your friend. Bring a supply of ginger snaps to try to quell an uneasy gut. Ginger ale can help too.
Also, as much as you can, stay above deck with a line of sight on the horizon. It's an eye-ear balance thing at play and depriving yourself of the visual aspect can set off nausea.
You raise a good question for any nausea/emetic situation, though. Is taking a replacement dose ever recommended after vomiting?
If it is one of the large cruise lines I would not worry about sea sickness. I've been on a few cruises on the Norwegian Cruise Line and you can't even feel the ship moving most of the time. Have a great time...I think cruising is the best vacation.
All sea sickness drugs block dopamine receptors inside the brain EXCEPT DOMPERIDONE.
I met a guy on our last cruise who used to get VERY seasick (like end-up-in-the-medical-center-sick) on cruises, but he didn't want to stop cruising. He discovered that if he took 500 mg of ginger (capsule) 2X a day (one with breakfast and one with dinner) and if he started about 2-3 days before the cruise and continued each day of the cruise too, all of his seasickness issues disappeared. Just a suggestion. A 3 day cruise suggests to me that you probably won't be out in open ocean where the ship might move around more, so you might not have any problems anyway. But, I wouldn't think that the ginger would hurt to try it anyway... My two cents...
