I take a natural Chinese remedy called "Sleepeace" or Tex Zao Ren An Mian Wan. I heard about it through acupuncturist and it is very effective. My husband also uses it. You can get it online.

Have you tried melatonin?

Insomnia is most often related to anxiety and indecision. Make your plans in the day. When you go to bed, take a deep breath and try to relax. Do not get on The computer just before going to bed and try to avoid action movies in the late evening. Read Proverbs with dim light. The only planning to do when you are awake in mid of night should theoretically be how u can help others. Don't think "self"....

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I take care of my husband who recently had 2nd by-pass, a stroke and given the wrong meds. in the hospital. I agree with you about helping others but I never seem to have a minute for myself. Proverbs would be helpful I know.

The suggestions below seem good. It can be particularly hard to sleep with Parkinson's because of tremor and the challenges to the nervous system. If you continue to find sleep difficult, you might like to consider our Zeez Sleep Pebble. It isn't a medical device, but is being trialled for use with people with Parkinson's related sleep disorders at Plymouth Medical School. And we have just started to sell it on line. Call me if you would like to know more . Best Wishes, Anna

Can you post information about the clinical trial?

asmckay profile image
asmckay in reply top-oui

Plymouth Medical school is carrying out a case series study, in which 20 Parkinson's patients are using the Zeez alongside their ordinary treatment. If this goes well, we hope that they will go on to do a larger clinical trial - and if that goes well, we would apply to have the device recognised as a medical device for the treatment of Parkinson's related sleep problems. So efficacy for Parkinson's related sleep problems is far from established. In relation to sleep in general, around 250 people have now tried the Zeez Pebble, with almost 80% responding very well - and very little change in the remaining 20%. Outside the Plymouth study, only three people with Parkinson's have used the device, and whilst all three responded positively, we can't draw any conclusions from so few people. One of those still finds it hard to fall asleep, but once asleep her sleep quality is much improved - and indeed overall, it seems to me that the biggest gain from using the Zeez Sleep Pebble is in sleep quality and daytime energy. It is precisely because experiences differ quite marked;y that we decided to sell the Sleep Pebble on sale or return.

I will post information about the Plymouth results on this spite and on our website when they are released (later this year or early next year..) I hope that helps. Anna

Anna, thank you, I am sure you can find people for an expanded study on this site. Members seem very interested in staying abreast of new developments and doing what we can to promote a cure.

I drink about 4--6 oz. of dark cherry juice about 15 minutes before going to bed and it seems to help me sleep.

Maybe try going to bed later? I usually stay up till about midnight, so I wake at a more sociable time. Also have a very dark room.

I was interested to learn more but I don't see any research the company has sponsored on sleep improvement (this is not to suggest there are not benefits). There is some research on ASEA. One such study was conducted in 2012 and is titled Influence of a redox-signaling supplement on biomarkers of physiological stress in athletes: a metabolomics approach. It was a small study of 20 people and it showed no improved performance.

In 2013, another study, also appearing in the FASEB journal, was released. It was titled Effects of ASEA beverage intake on endurance performance in mice. In this study, mice were force fed ASEA or a placebo for 7 days prior to running to exhaustion.

The results showed that mice getting ASEA ran about 29% longer than those who got the placebo.

Here's what I found on their own website but there are no details that indicate the studies were peer reviewed or whether there was a control group getting placebo:

"In a recent trial conducted by David C. Nieman, DrPH, FACSM, of Appalachian State University, 106 women consumed four ounces of ASEA Redox Supplement per day for 90 days. The participants showed significant results, experiencing reduced oxidative stress biomarkers. * In particular, they experienced a lowering of the oxidized form of LDL cholesterol, suggesting that ASEA Redox Supplement may contribute to the reduction of oxidative stress and support cardiovascular health."

"In a 2015 research study by Stephens & Associates, the following outcomes were measured on participants’ forearms, with one forearm acting as the experimental control and the other as the RENU 28 experimental arm:

49% blood flow increase within 15 minutes of first application

34% blood flow increase one-hour post initial application

35% blood flow increase three hours post initial application

44% blood flow increase 48 hours into the study

55% blood flow increase 96 hours into the study"

Interesting.
