1/2 dose of medication

I read a post here yesterday, that someone who was made lightheaded with medicatio,

cut it in half, and the lightheadedness went away.

I need to speak to that person, and ask him what medication it was.

Hope you see this and that I hear from you soon,

Blessings, Eva G.

Hi Eva G,

I started to take Azilect 1/2 a tablet a year ago. Tried to take a whole but couldn't settle. I'm still taking 1/2 along with Madopar.

Blessings

Helen

This is interesting , my husband is quite advances none of the meds seem to help him at all although they keep telling me if. Do stop the Sinemet he would slow down altogether and swallow become much worse

He gets so many side effects and is v sensitive to lots of meds .

He hadn't received the m yet but they are going to try AZILECT !!

I have not been a defeatest since day one . But I have a feel that these are not going to make a difference for the better either .

Don't panic CabbageCottage! I take the full 1mg of Azilect with no problems. I've always looked upon Azilect as one of the safer drugs to take. Not long ago it was even looked upon as neuro protective. Many, many of us take it with no problems.

thank you , I know but as a matter of fact gave come off phone to mental health nurse . they have given him memantine to try and help his thought process .

it has Been helping that .. his memory is excellent still , it's the cognivity the problem .

we have decided now that it's that that has been stopping him weeping .he can go easily for eighteen hours with ought going ebut has been so poorly didn't go for 40 hrs .

I have reduced it today , looks like it's too much for him ,

that has happened with most of his meds ., he gas been on sinemet nor for such a long time the nurse told me if we stopped it would make his swallow even worse ., I am not so sure but can't take a chance .. not brave enough

When they increased my Azilect from 0.5 mg to 1.0 mg I was getting a terrible peak dose response. What I found is by taking Sinemet and the Azilect an hour apart the the peak dose response was minimal and usually dissipates within an 1/2 hour .

I take aziclet and I've not had any problems or noticeable side effects.

Slight tremor especially on waking. Weak down my left side and particularly my left arm. Stiffness, again particularly left hand and wrist. Not sure how aziclet helps but I don't seem to be getting much worse. I exercise like a demon.

Good job. Are you taking any other medication? How long have you been on Azilect? Thankyou this is helpful.

I've been taking it since November. I'm not on any other prescribed meds yet but I use Zandopa/Mucuna Puriens which I order. . I've heard you shouldn't combine that with aziclet but have had no ill effects so far. I'm speaking only for myself.

Hi Jimbo. After your reply, I went and looked at the list of symptoms I took to my neurologist in November which was when he prescribed aziclet. I had written: stiffness, especially left hand and wrist (I actually can't flex my fingers), low mood, inability to sleep, weird dreams, some loss of concentration (needing to wait until the afternoon to do complicated stuff at work), tingling in my arms and trembling. All these symptoms, except the stiffness and inability to flex my fingers, are either much better or gone. My mood is fine, I sleep ok, and my concentration is much better, although I have noticed that I don't watch TV with the same appetite that I did - maybe a good thing, as I read more. I've done some complex stuff at work and been able to maintain my concentration. So something is working! I'm seeing the neurologist again this week. He's been very keen to start me on some kind of dopamine but I'm not keen yet. I know the time will come, but right now, PD doesn't stop me doing anything, except I am slower.

I take 1/2 pill twice a day. When I took the full pill made me dizzy. I take them 4 hours apart in the AM
