i recently had a surgical procedure and 8hrs of anaesthetic. All I can say is make sure you get your PD medication on time immediatlly prior to and after surgery.Explain to nursing staff why its crucial to get timing right.Have your regime written out give them a copy and keep a copy ideally you should keep your PD meds and self administer if your fit to do so.Expect to feel tired and your meds may not be as effective for a few weeks try to avoid making changes in first month, it take time to return to your normal Be kind to yourself recovery is more challenging with PD on board.Good luck
Hi Leeli. Yes! I had a disc removed from my lower back in 1977, 14 years after my 1st symptom showed up in 1963. I was diagnosed with Pd in 1992 and in 1998 I had a 2nd disc removed, before the days of keyhole surgery. I had no ill effects. But we are not all the same, so don't take that as a certainty for your mom.
Good luck!
John
