Don't know if I can say this here but has anyone found cannabis to be helpful with tremors? I don't use but willing to try most anything!
cannabis? : Don't know if I can say this... - Cure Parkinson's
cannabis?
Have a look at this - youtube.com/watch?v=rHmbNjC...
I can't actually read his writing but you get the gist.
christyd65 - if you're a non smoker then I would recommend you use a vaporizer. That way you get the benefits of the CBDs and avoid any cancer causing smoke.
I'm going to try it. I'll report back. My small beginning tremors are really consistent, and appear to be getting worse. So I believe I can see when anything has an effect on it.
Thanks for conducting the lab experiment Can't wait to hear the outcome.
To my surprise, I've already conducted my test. I could not see a reduction in my slight tremor, but it definitely was a little bit fun and my appetite and sleep were greatly improved, which are its two biggest side effects. Holistically speaking, I can see how it could definitely improve the quality of life for PD patients by decreasing depression in a safer way than taking anti-depressants who's side effects can be bad...hurting sleep and decreased libido for example. I rarely did it in the past because of the sleep issue and I used to enjoy life enough to not want to be distracted by it reducing my level of work. But these days, that's not an issue. Just stepping back and looking at the bigger picture, a stoned PD patient seems like a happier and better thing than a zombified PD. I mean a stoned off state seems a lot better than a normal off state, even if it does not decrease the amount or frequency of the off state.
Love your outlook ! Thanks for reporting back.
Also, the reduction in anxiety might be very important. Most people do not realize how bad depression and anxiety can be. Cannabis is fairly good at reducing or covering up these things and a lot safer than any of the pharmaceuticals used for the same thing. But as a 1960's friend once told me "Safer and healthier? You mean if prison were not also a side effect." I should also mention I am assuming you do not drive when impaired.
There's no question it helps me and I'd encourage any users to invest in a good vaporizer to avoid complicating an already serious health issue with smoke. I own or have owned 4 or 5 vaporizers and the absolute best is the Volcano. That said, use cannabis in moderation and keep getting all the exercise you can, eat nutritious foods and get adequate sleep.
On January 1st of this year i started taking Dronabinol (Marinol). The first pill completely changed my outlook on Life with Parkinson's. I began with 2.5 mg for 30 days,, At present am using 5.0 mg,, I will go to the next level next month. I also plan on getting the CBD next month. I can not express how my life has improved. But, were medical marijuana legal in Texas i would use it. I have been told and watched the video's,, I am a firm believer in THC and CBD.
The changes were so drastic that even i could not believe it true. I can now walk,, one day i found myself jogging,,, At times i have to remind my self to pick up my feet to walk normally. I don't freeze up as before,, i can smell somewhat,, My motor skills have improved,, I can think (this can be good or bad ) Basically, i can function fairly well,, Also i can drive if necessary,, but had rather watch out the window and see the world for the first time in many years,, And,, most of all,, I can smile, laugh, talk to people, enjoy life,,, I think it is called "Having a Life". Yea,, i get a buzz,, that's a bonus,,, But be forewarned,, you may not like the buzz,, but if you do,, Sweet dreams and fewer night mares are in store for you. Also going to places you haven't been in years will greet you. Parkinson's ain't near as ruff when stoned.
I am no expert,, except on the life i have regained,, and for that i thank God,,, LD
I'm 65 and one year into my PD diagnosis. My only obvious symptom is the standard left hand / forearm tremor. It's gradually getting worse. My kids suggested I take THC and/or CBD in capsule form or tinctures. Sometimes they offer a hit on a vapour bag and they insist my tremor is reduced. I prefer the tinctures as I can readily control my intake. A mild buzz and reduced tremor is a great relief. Would like to see medical research on this...
I with you...does it help tremor
