I just had the Vercise system implanted in mid-October, as part of the Boston Scientific study in the United States. It was turned on last Monday, but not optimized specifically to my needs. The first 3 months are the "trial" period in which we are chosen randomly either to get a very low, intermittent stimulus, OR a medium continuous dose. Already, I can tell a decided difference as my need for sinemet wanes. It's a remarkable piece of technology; I'm grateful to be in the trial, even though it means a delay of several months to get the optimal dose for my symptoms.

I have also had the Vercise System through the trial. It is amazing that I have noticed a drastic change in meds and having so much more emergy. I am so grateful to be a part of this study. I had surgery 8 weeks ago and looking forward to 6 months from now.

Cindi, do you already know which group you are in? If so, how long did it take you to figure it out, and what changes did you notice that led you to your conclusion?

I am not sure- I will have to wait and see. I am just happy now that I do not have any bad side effects---

Thanks, I will be interested to know how this goes for you. I am contemplating the whole DBS thing and looking for some testimonials on the Vercise system.
