What Calender ?

I have difficulty with days and dates and appointmrnys.. I am constantly missing events and can't remember anything about them. I am almost to the point of not doing anything so as not to be rude to friends. I cannot remember dates and times. Does anyone else have this problem?

If you go to the Fibroaction site you'll find a lot of this, You are far from alone. Would it help setting the alarm on your mobile phone if you have one? They sell you the latest gadget but some relatively cheap ones have a calendar setting which can be useful, and unlike many things it may be on your person all the time, unlike a paper calendar. iphones and tables have it as a matter of course. I know, you have to remember to set it in the first place!

Try not to get worked up. It's not worth it. Can you patiently explain to your friends? Some gp hospital and dental practises will send you a text if you ask.

Hope it helps.

I have a similar problem. I even remember the appointment time but get the day wrong.

I find the problem with phone calendars is they are difficult to manage - too small and fiddly.

If you are PC literate then you can get free calendars which have useful functions like warning sounds which can be set to give time to get ready for the appointment.

However, on my PC, I use one called Calendarscope, which cost $30 to download, about £19. It links with the iCal calendar on my wifes Macbook and her iPad Mini, and also with my Samsung Tablet. So, whichever device we are using, they are all synchronised.

Of course, that solution will not necessarily suit everyone but there are other free calendars which will help

Try MS Outlook and Google calendars but also try the following suggestions for free calendars:-

I was on the Phone to a friend last week, and half way through the conversation was going to call them by name, and I could not remember who I was talking to. ''Panic Stations''!

I find the best thing now is to keep a large desk diary handy, always with a pen stuck in it as i can never find one.

Also those sticky memory pads you can write little messages and stick them in various places.

Please dont be like me I often end up unable to read my own writing.

It may be frustrating at times, but lets see the funny side of it.

My internal calendar sense is almost extinct...

I use the good old AOL calendar...it has built in place for notes, day, date, reminders,

it is easy, straight forward, editable and effective...holler with any questions.

Best wishes!

paper calendar on the wall. If it's not on there, I rely on reminders. So it better be on there.

Hi Koko. I don't know how old you are, but for the past 30 years or more, and I am now 79, I have had that problem. I was diagnosed with Pd in 1992, but the neurologist never bothered to tell me what all the symptoms are. I have managed to overcome many of my Pd movement problems but the memory has continued to be a problem. There is nothing worse that forgetting an appointment or not turning up for an imprortant family event. I have found a tool that has helped me overcome this failure of mine. My daughter told me to use my CALENDAR feature on my cellphone. I am not used to these fancy features, and tried to make her accept those limits. But she was so incensed by one forgetful event that she said that if I didn't start using this feature on my phone she would know that i was really not interested in whether I turned up or not and she would cut me out of her life. I then started to put in all appointments and birthdays etc, for the whole year. I also put in warning messages in advance of appointments, so that there are no excuses for forgetting an appointment. It has worked very well. The only problem comes abouit when I don't enter an appointment at the time of making it. This lapse has caused problems, which my partner has been able to overcome by asking if I have entered the missing appontment. It is an ongoing problem, which medicine does not fix. WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

John.
