Has anyone tried Glutathione and had any success with it? I read it was supposed to help with PD and Dementia. I want to try on hubby.

I have heard about it though understand it is very expensive and there is no guarantee it would do anything at all. The FDA has turned down an application several times I gather citing lack of evidential basis for any benefit. My neurologist (who authored a study on CoQ10 - so he's not adverse to trying these complementary products) said in all likelihood you'd just end up with expensive wee. Sorry to be so -ve, others may have had sucess, I'm just not sure.

Hello Raven, Glutathione is expensive but from what I have heard, it is worth the cost. We produce Glutathione naturally however as you age we produce less therefore you may have read that supplementing is a good way to reduce the risk of Dementia. Scientist are still unsure why and how dementia comes about but one thing they are exploring is Glutathione.

Why take supplement? Gluthatione can be found in abundance in avocado.

I went to Naples, Florida for treatments of Glutathione with Dr. Pullmeter (I'm not sure of the spelling). He was one of the publisher of the research. I had several treatments, but did not see any benefit for myself. However, I did see it benefit some others with PD. It's worth a try. If you get in touch with him he probably would work with your doctor to go over the protocol. He worked with mine. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply. I did buy some capsules of the Glutathione and tried them and found they did give my husband more energy and made him more alert. I'm looking for a miracle cure like everyone else and know there isn't one. Not sure whether I will continue with the Glutathione or not. Only side affect I found was very loose stools and a lot of gas.

Glutathionepro is totally right. traditional capsules and powders have to pass by your digestive system where most of the irritation occurs. You can avoid this with Liposomal or Acetyl Glutathione. They bypass the digestive system and go straight to your blood.

glutathione alone will not do it. Look into Lion's Mane, D-ribose, PQQ with CoQ10, Magnesium L Theonate.....there is a whole science about brain boosters. There is no magic bullet. You have to treat the whole. Supplement aging hormones, improve cell wall permeability, fire up the Kreb Cycle, support mitochondrial health, expose your self to learning something new, those dendrites can grow and make new connections, you can grow new mitochondria, and the easiest is in areas of higher learning. Never give up.
