Has anyone had a Blind Blood patch performed or knows someone who has or has any

information about it. Neurologist recommends it to find A leak around the spin which did not show on C Scans of spin and who thinks that is what is causing funny feeling in my head, rather than PD symptom's.

I don't know what this is even

AS far as I can determine, it is a liquid with special properties that can travel thru the blood to

find a spinal leak and patch it. It is injected at the base of the spine like an epidermal injection.

What sort of 'funny feeling'.

I had a 'funny feeling' in my head which I was told was "unlikely to be parkinson's related". I was given Amitriptyline for neck pain and hey presto!!! Funny feeing gone!!.

It must have been linked to the muscles in my neck, once that was resolved, the 'funny feeling' was too!.

Caroline.

Hello

I'd like to know more about this test.

Had Pd for around 8-10 yrs, I take Madopar 125 (soluble,CR and regular), Entacapone 200, 4mg Rotigoine Patch and 15mg Codeine Phosphate tablets (when required for pain).

For the last few months I've been experiencing fuzzy feelings in the front of my head, almost like a bad hangover which makes the back of my head feel very fragile, it makes my eyes squint as if Im in bright sunshine/bright light even though I'm not. It usually lasts around 15 minutes.

These symptoms only occur when during 'off periods' and disappear when my meds kick back in.

I'm interested to know if the funny feeling you are experiencing in your head is similar.

I am also interested in the funny head feeling .

It's my husband who has Parkinsons but this week I have had a really bad stiff neck and back .. I support my husband physically , when walking in all sorts of sticky situations and push his wheelchair . It is a struggle but I just get on with it .

Until this week , I have had vertigo its really knocked me off my feet . .

I have put it down to the neck stiffness and even considered taking one of my husbands Amitriptyline .

Best see yr Gp for advice, if you suffer from vertigo its a good idea not to lie flat in bed, use a couple of pillows so yr head is higher than yr feet. Vertigo does made you feel dizzy, prescription meds can help with the symptoms. Sounds like you could use some help with lifting your hubby. Have you had an occupational therapist assess your husbands situation at home. There are lots of useful pieces of equipment they provide on loan for as long as required. You could be putting yourself and your husband at risk.

You can get in touch to get an assessment done through yr local council.

I don't know if a "blind" blood patch is the same as a blood patch, but I had one several years ago. I'd had a spinal tap which failed to heal closed and (after the fact) I learned that the spinal fluid was leaking into my body, which resulted in no protection for the brain and the pain for 3 days was beyond excruciating. I later learned that this was what was happening. Laying down allows the fluid to surround the brain, but standing up left it "dry"? At any rate, on day 3 my husband carried me into the hospital. They removed a small amount of blood from my arm, and injected it into the tap location. Apparently the blood coagulates and seals the opening. Within minutes I walked out of the ER and enjoyed Easter Sunday dinner with the family. Is it possible the "blind" aspect is that they are unaware of where the fluid is leaking? I have to say, it was my own personal Easter miracle. I could not be upright long enough to use the bathroom without curling up on the floor in pain and it fixed it immediately. I hope you find relief as I did!!! GOOD LUCK
