Is anyone experiencing this condition? I have had it since Oct, 2016 when diagnosed with RA. I have pain when inhaling, sneezing, yawning, twisting etc.

Me! I had a panic attack when the doc told me. I literally shut down mentally when I heard the word "inflammation" come out of his mouth. He gave me a 5 day prednisone burst. It did the job for the most part, but it's not completely gone. I can breathe now tho! I just have to be careful not to irritate it, which is hard being a nurse. If it's not one thing it's another! Frustration on a daily basis with BS disease!! Keep fighting!! 💜💙

Soon after I was put on MTX, I began having a dry cough and pain around my ribs. Deep breathing, laughing, twisting and touching was difficult due to the condition. And sneezing was a killer! It was very painful and uncomfortable. I thought that I might have broken some ribs from coughing so hard and often. Numerous x-rays showed nothing broken. My Rheumatologist finally diagnosed it as costochondritis. It took several weeks to resolve. I hope yours passes quickly!

All the best to you!

Costochondritis was the first symptom of RA that I had but my doctor kept telling me it was caused by stress. It wasn't until about nine months later that my knees became inflamed and I was diagnosed with RA. My rheumatologists says that it is common to have costochondritis with RA. Mine seemed to have improved with the RA meds. I do also believe the condition is made worse by stress.
