Good morning, COPD really didn't affect my working much. I was into child care and the children were not babies. They could do most everything for themselves. I've been retired for nearly four years. COPD is not the same as it was when I was working, but still feel I could do it today. Inhalers, exercising and oxygen keep me pretty mobile. God Bless and hope everyone has a easy breathing weekend.
I turned 65 in March and decided to retire, breathing was getting to hard. So glad I did. It's nice not having to go to work every day having breathing problems
After 32 years of service, I was fired because I couldn't do my job anymore. I knew it was coming but it hit me like a ton of bricks
I had a concentrator in my office but i managed a 30 unit hud property for handicap and disabled and seniors. It got to the point that I couldn't breathe enough to explain to my tenants what needed to be done. I got confused. I have very severe copd and i was sicker that the people i was helping. That's when i went to the disability office and had to demand an interview. On oxygen and meds for a decade now. Going to pulm rehab to just keep going..it's hard. Good luck to all
